Year 1 have had a busy construction afternoon! We have been building churches to go along with our RE week.

Today Year 1 had a special visitor for RE week. On Monday we wrote some questions about what it’s like to be a Christian and about Christianity. Then today Reverend Kate came to visit us and we asked her our questions. We found out lots about Christianity and what her job is as a vicar.

Today we learnt about about PANTS! We learnt about why it is important to keep our private parts private. To help us remember this was created and designed our own safe pants! PANTS stands for:

Privates are private

Always remember your body belongs to you

No means no

Talk about secrets that upset you

Speak up, someone can help

 

To celebrate World Mental Health Day we had Pure Well-being Arts in to deliver a fun session around how to express our emotions and feelings. We used drama to act out different emotions then we showed used different shapes and colours to show our feelings.

 

Today year 1 have been busy practising playing different instruments and putting them into the musical sequence.

Today Year 1 had a visit from Matt at the Marine Conservation Society. He shared with us all his knowledge about marine life and why it’s important to protect our marine animals especially seals. We learnt about different types of seals, how to see if they are healthy or not and how to stop polluting the seas to help care for these animals.
